Jihad Is Legitimate

-Even though Bill O'Reilly isn't the most objective/intelligent anchor around, I thought he was asking all the right questions in his interview with Nihad Awad, the executive director of CAIR.

O'REILLY: No, we said Italy and Germany were fascist states. And right now, we're fighting a stateless enemy.

AWAD: Yes.

O'REILLY: ...but they are all Muslims. 100 percent of the terrorists that we're facing are Muslims.

AWAD: OK. But their actions are not inspired by Islam[bold added]. And this is very important for you.

O'REILLY: Well, what is the jihad then?

AWAD: Jihad is a legitimate self-defense like the United States if it's attacked it defends itself, but terrorism is not Islamic. And terrorism is not inspired by Islam[bold added on all three].

O'REILLY: Then why are all the terrorists Muslims?

AWAD: They are Muslim, but they're not Islamic. Their actions are not inspired by Islam[bold added]. It's like Islam philosophy.[Source:http://tinyurl.com/y7776o]

-I had no idea that "Jihad is a legitimate self-defense..." I guess we learn something new everyday.

-Jihad is the polar opposite of legitimate, in fact it is "A holy war undertaken as a sacred duty by Muslims." That's all there is to it.

-"It's like Islam philosophy." Exactly! Do you see what the "...Islam Philosophy..." [read: ethical subjectivism] does? Now "Jihad is a legitimate self-defense..." and black is white.

-"They are Muslim, but they're not Islamic."...What? Man this is getting really confusing.

-Do not overlook how Awad, in a matter of roughly 20 seconds, managed to slither in four brief statements about how terrorism and Islam are not connected in the least. This is clearly false; pick up a koran.

-This next segment is my favorite verbal exchange; O'Reilly gets kudos for it.
AWAD: We should not alienate them because mainstream Muslims see themselves as offended.

O'REILLY: I don't want to alienate anybody, but I'm not going to play a politically correct game in the middle of a War on Terror.[Source:http://tinyurl.com/y7776o]

-Good; anyone who loves freedom, individual rights, America and wealth wouldn't either.
